Bruce Mishell is an American painter based in New York
Bruce established his own unique style amidst influences from Impressionism, Fauvism, and Abstract Expressionism. Born in 1955 in Brooklyn, New York, Bruce admired the works of Miro, Van Gough, Monet, Picasso, Chagall, and many of the mid-century abstract expressionists.
Bruce studied painting and ceramics at College of the Redwoods and Humboldt State University in Northern California. His early watercolor paintings featured landscapes inspired by the lush tropical Redwoods and Pacific Ocean. Bruce lived in San Francisco and Los Angeles in the 80’s where he opened painting and ceramics studios and showed his work in restaurants corporations and galleries.
Bruce returned to NYC where he founded and managed a successful interior design studio while continuing to paint and create his own style of free flowing abstract creations. “I paint for my sanity and well-being, and to inspire and evoke happiness and love to the universe at large”
He has been exhibiting and selling his work in NYC, California and Florida for the past 35 years.
In 2015, Bruce founded Magic Hill in Hudson, NY, where he exhibits and sells his art.
